Holistic Support for Families

Supporting the whole family

Hands Reaching Out

Challenges affecting one family member can have an impact on the whole family.

Our holistic family support considers relationships, communication, emotional wellbeing and everyday family life, helping us understand the experiences and needs of the family as a whole.

Understanding your family's needs

Our multidisciplinary team uses psychological formulation to develop a shared understanding of the difficulties affecting the family.

We consider:

  • Individual experiences and needs

  • Family relationships and home environment

  • Communication

  • Emotional wellbeing

  • Wider support networks

  • Existing support and resources

  • Working patterns

Our nurturing and trauma-informed approach places safety, trust, dignity and connection at the centre of our work.

Parent-Child Interaction

How can we support families?

Support can be tailored to the needs of each family and may include:

  • Individual counselling

  • Family counselling

  • Therapeutic work with children aged 11 and over and adults

  • Guidance and support for parents and carers

  • Family consultations

  • Working alongside schools and other professionals

  • Collaboration with care providers and other agencies

Counselling can also form part of a wider support plan where appropriate.

Hands in Support

Support begins with an initial face-to-face consultation, usually lasting around one hour.

The consultation helps us understand your family's circumstances and determine whether we can provide effective support.

We may recommend ongoing support with Midlands EduTherapy, signposting to another service, or a combination of services.

Initial consultation: £120

Following the consultation, families receive a short written overview with recommended next steps.

Where ongoing support is appropriate, our multidisciplinary team will develop an individualised, formulation-led plan.

A clear quotation will be provided, usually based on a minimum of six sessions.
