Psychological Support for Complex Needs
Understanding the whole person
We provide compassionate, professional psychological support for children, young people and adults experiencing complex needs and difficulties, as well as the parents, carers, families and professionals supporting them.
Our approach is based on psychological formulation, helping us understand a person's experiences, strengths, relationships, environment and current challenges.
We use nurturing and trauma-informed approaches, placing safety, trust, choice, connection and dignity at the centre of our work.
Our approach
We recognise that complex difficulties rarely have a single cause or solution.
We take time to understand the wider picture and work collaboratively with the individual and, where appropriate, the people around them.
Our multidisciplinary team uses psychological formulation to develop an individualised understanding of what may be contributing to current difficulties and what may help.
Starting support
Support begins with an initial face-to-face consultation, usually lasting around one hour.
The consultation gives us an opportunity to explore:

What support may be most appropriate
Following the consultation, you will receive a short written overview with recommended next steps.
This may include ongoing support with Midlands EduTherapy, signposting to another service, or a combination of support where appropriate.
Initial consultation: £120
Individualised support
Where ongoing support is appropriate, our multidisciplinary team will develop a psychological formulation and individualised plan.
This provides a clear framework for ongoing work, ensuring that support is purposeful, coordinated and responsive to changing needs.
We usually offer ongoing support as a minimum of six sessions, with progress reviewed throughout.
A clear quotation will be provided before ongoing support begins.
